A time of disruption and change, and I’m curious, how are you getting on?
Whatever your status in the global lockdown, one thing is sure – the end will not be distinct. It’s not going to be like a project reaching its big deliverable, or a milestone being reached. You know, the kind of event that enlightened professionals would say, “Okay, what have we learned?”
To avoid the risk that you will not consolidate your learning and extract the benefit from this period, let me ask you:
Okay, so what have you learned so far?
Come on, grab a coffee, sit in the garden and make some notes.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve learned loads. For instance:
- How critically important it is to work on being as healthy as you can be. During this lockdown I’ve put a lot of time in to make sure my health is as strong as possible and honestly, I’ve never felt better in my life.
- The way emotions impact our thoughts, lives and those around us. I knew it of course, but this experience has laid bare the enormity of these hitherto obscured influences.
- A sharp lesson (again) on sticking to what I love doing the most.
- Observing the stark difference in the way people are living through this, and how strongly their internal beliefs influence their experience, behaviours and reactions..
- The scale of the impact/influence that the media have, and how to be even more independent in my thoughts and feelings.
- That actually, the sky is bluer than ever, the air is cleaner and that this is the world I’d love to live in.
Enough about me, summarise in your notebook some of the big lessons for you thus far.
