So many people are telling me that they don’t know what’s going to happen. Uncertain times. “Who knows how this will all land? Need to keep our options open.”
Here’s an analogy.
Imagine a race. A race where the prize is big. The winning rider will be made for life. The trainer hailed a hero. Trouble is, there is no course. No nearby rails, no next jump. Not only that, you cannot see the final furlong nor the finishing line.
There are lots of runners and riders in this race. But, they’re running in all directions. Some have changed course a few times.
Then out of the blue, a pattern emerges. A few riders are racing fast in the same direction. Maybe they know? Let’s see if we can catch them. Suddenly the field forms, and the real race is on.
Yet still the winning line is not in sight. But we have to follow.
The bottom-line, if you are uncertain about the future, it means you are not in control of the future. Or, that those who are in control, haven’t told you yet (if in fact they really are certain).
You cannot control everything, but the less you control, the more uncertain your world, and frankly, the more stress you are exposed to.
Let me repeat this another way.
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. The blind cannot see how well the one-eyed man can see, they only believe he can see so they follow as best they can.
In the land of the uncertain, the certain man wins. The uncertain don’t know why that man is certain, they just believe that he is, so they follow, as best they can.
The only way to be certain is to be in control. Of your mind, your heart and your future. Know your vision well enough to power forward strongly so that others start to follow. Let them nip at your heels to spur you on. Keep one jump ahead. Then my friend, you’ll be the one shaping the future, the new normal, the world others have to fit in with.
Now, reflect on this.
Sin ce certainty can only be proved by history, how can this work? How is it possible to be certain about a future that hasn’t happened? I know how. Do you? Think about it.
Oh, and by the way, in case you haven’t noticed, that fantasy race I mentioned earlier, it started weeks ago and the bets are already on.
You did place your bet didn’t you?
