Hey, mornin’. ‘nother fine day!
Since it’s my birthday today, appropriate for me to send out a quick message.
As we roll through 2051, it’s great to see the end of the final “earth crimes” tribunal. Now we can close the book on that period and look forward to an even brighter future, not a cloud on the horizon so to speak.
Every one of us, the over 50s survivors, remember what started back in 2020, but I ask you this, were you one of those who stepped out with a big bold vision, or were you a late adopter?
Why do I ask this now? Because we need ever more vision, bigger thinkers, those superstars who got us here. And we need them, at every level.
Here’s an example of the sort of person who is and has been a role-model for years now. We’ve had our eye on her for a while. A woman in her late 60s, bright as a button. Her messaged arrived as I got back from my morning run.
Hi Colin, trust you’re fit and well. Wanted to reach out to you as I’ve got a 20% sponsor window freeing up shortly. I’ve always been respectful of what you guys are doing and would love to get involved, just something about the values and energy you all put in, and obviously the positive impact you are making. Below is a list of my recent accomplishments which hopefully speak for themselves.
You can also check out my personal profile below too. As you can see, I’m one of those #staylocal people in our community with a carbon score of -5.24% (and a health dependency score of -12.7 too! I love walking in our local woods and I’ll confess, I sometimes have to excuse the playful grandchildren, all home educated of course. Still, nothing gets in the way of collaborating globally on exciting projects.
Oh, and I’m a real self-starter so will need just minimal support once we’ve set the goals. They call me a voracious learner and apart from my MBA (from Warwick naturally) it’s 30 years since I went on a course or anything like that, learning for the result is my motto, and I do like to stay ahead of the game!
Perhaps you’d be kind enough to let me know how I may be able to support your work. As I say, I’ve got a 20% slot soon but if the timing doesn’t work perfectly, no worries, I can always take a little more time for other things – would love to paint some more for our local gallery, looking oh so 2020s!
Warm regards,
SW
Just what we need.
Back to my birthday, I wanted to ask you something.
Never mind how quickly you adjusted in 2020 and how big your vision was then, are you the sort of individual who now has a big vision for the next 30 years?
Think about it.
The future is born of the past, not made in the past. The present is where we make the future, backwards from the past. Ignorance of that truism is why the business schools drove us headlong into 2020, and I realise it doesn’t make any sense to those still alive thinking from the past.
Like I say, think about it.
Stay in touch
Colin
PS: It really is my birthday, but instead of sending me best wishes, send me your thoughts on what action you will take to step boldly into tomorrow.
