Trying to get people’s attention is hard at the best of times. Many people make it far harder than they need to because they miss this simple way to increase visibility and get noticed.
Get Noticed: Step Into the Line of Fire
You don’t need courage, but you do need preparation!!
Exercise to Get Noticed
- What are the top three priorities for a key senior individual, or for the top team as a whole?
- How does your role/idea help or hinder those priorities?
- What can you do to highlight the positive contributions you could be making?
Getting Noticed Implementation
- Keep learning more about the agendas of the senior people around your organisation.
- Get creative about the way you start to talk about the work you do and how it helps in the bigger picture.
- Look for opportunities to adjust the work you are doing so it is even more aligned to these senior agendas.
