Your track-record of results will speak volumes about the value you can add to people’s lives.
Whatever your track-record is like, it could be improved, and actually, quite easily.
Here’s how.
- Ensure that the track-record you wish to improve is highly relevant to the people you wish to work for, and also, highly valued. A track-record of irrelevant results is, well, irrelevant and a waste of effort.
- Get crystal-clear on exactly what results you are shooting for. Most people fail miserably on this one. Don’t try to achieve too many different things. Instead, focus on just two or three, big audacious goals that will be highly valued by your stakeholders.
- Tell your stakeholders you are going to deliver. Be bold, confident and determined. Come what may, you are going to succeed.
- Then just get to work – but be scrupulous in resisting the temptation to be distracted from your focus on getting the results you said you would get.
Certainly, you’re going to have to do the work, and I’m confident that is already well within your capability. Most people waste a huge amount of time and energy being hugely busy going nowhere very fast. If you properly attend to the four points above, you will not be like most people, and the world needs people like you.
So, go to it.
